About the Artist

Hi!  My name is Lori McSorley. I have  always loved to paint and draw since I was a child. I have been doing artistic work such as hand painted murals, hand painted wine glasses, painted furniture and now facepainting for many years. I studied art  in college at Montclair State. After graduating I worked at a print shop starting in the art department.  I worked my way through the company moving up to manager of the art department then into the sales force and eventually became manager of the sales department.  While doing this I got married and had two children with my husband.  Working full time with two children was challenging.  Then when I had my third child I decided to leave the company and stay home with my children.  I needed to find a way to make some money.  I did some facepainting at a friend's party and everyone loved it!  I did some research and took some classes and practiced and found I really enjoyed it.  I've been painting at many different parties and events ever since! 

I love seeing the joy on the children's faces when the painting is done.  I can paint something very simple on the face, hand or arm or also very elaborate full face designs.  Since I have been doing this for so long now I have perfected many different painting techniques and I can paint very quickly. Because of this the children do not have to sit so long to get painted.  I can paint roughly 15-20 children in an hour depending on the designs they choose. 

I was the official face painter on the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship the Allure of the Seas from April 28th- May 5th of 2013.
